The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Monroe Police Department, Monroe Fire Department & EMS, Liberty Township Fire Department, CareFlight Air and Mobile Services, Butler County Coroner’s Office and Jacob’s Towing. Norton succumbed to fatal injuries as a result of the crash. West Chester Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Norton, 75, Celina, was transported by ground ambulance to U.C. Hernandez was transported by CareFlight Air and Mobile Services to Miami Valley Hospital with life threatening injuries. The Chevrolet continued over the concrete median barrier, coming to final rest in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75. The Chevrolet continued across all northbound lanes of travel, striking the concrete median barrier. After going airborne, the Chevrolet landed off the right side of the roadway of the northbound lanes of Interstate 75. The Chevrolet struck a ditch and went airborne over the on-ramp from state Route 63 eastbound to Interstate 75 northbound and the associated guardrail. The Chevrolet traveled off the right side of the roadway in between the two on-ramps to Interstate 75 northbound. The preliminary investigation revealed a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox LT, operated by Mary Jo Hernandez, 44, Cleveland (Tenn.), was traveling west on state Route 63.
The crash originated on state Route 63 and came to final rest on Interstate 75. The crash occurred July 6, at approximately 3:20 p.m., in Monroe, Warren County. The Hamilton Post of the Ohio State Highway is investigating a fatal crash.
